Efforts of compromise:
LJP is prepared to contest Lok Sabha polls in alliance with Congress. In the Congress government formed at Centre in alliance with other parties Lok Janshakti Party is one of them. Consequently it does not have any difficulty in contesting polls in Madhya Pradesh in alliance with LJP.

Maximum damage done to Congress in last elections was due to votes cast in favour of BSP. Therefore Congress party feels that to get Dalit votes it is necessary to contest polls in alliance with parties which are involved in Dalit politics. By doing so its vote bank will increase and its strength too will increase therefore LJP can be the best alternative for Congress to contest polls in alliance with it in State.

Compromise on one seat:
If Phool Singh Baraiya finally does not join Congress then as part of compromise in the last moment Bhind parliamentary constituency will be left for LJP to contest polls. It is the place from which Phool Singh Baraiya is interested in contesting polls.

Congress too believes that Phool Singh Baraiya has hold over Bhind parliamentary constituency. Although Bhagirath Prasad is also not a weak candidate from that seat. If Baraiya gets the seat of Bhind as part of compromise then party will get benefit of Dalit votes from Gwalior-Chambal area. Along with this from Rewa and Sagar constituencies where there are too many Dalit votes Congress can get benefit.

Decision at top level:
There is possibility that on the issue of Baraiya and LJP top leaders of the party will take decision. After the meeting of Congress scrutiny committee on March 2 a report indicating benefit of alliance with LJP and possibility of Baraiya contesting polls from Bhind seat have been submitted to high command and on its basis decision will be taken soon.
